STARKVILLE, Miss. - UTSA senior Jennifer Davis and junior Jessica Rogers have been named to the NFCA South All-Region First and Second Team, respectively, as voted upon by the region’s coaches.

Davis (pictured right) was one of 12 players and three outfielders chosen to the first team in the South Region after finishing her senior season with a team-high .400 batting average, 78 hits, nine doubles, three triples, 12 home runs, 45 runs batted in, a .662 slugging percentage, a .432 on-base percentage and six stolen bases. A two-time Southland Conference Hitter of the Week, Davis earned first team all-conference honors in the outfield and was named to the All-SLC Tournament Team.

Rogers was one of two third basemen named to the second team after wrapping up her junior season with a .384 batting average, 78 hits, eight doubles, two triples, 23 home runs, 64 RBI, a .783 slugging percentage, a .416 on-base percentage and three sacrifice flies. Her 23 home runs and 64 RBI set SLC single-season records, while she was errorless in 26 conference games at third base. Rogers, a first team all-region choice in 2004, was tabbed first team all-conference for the third straight season. She currently leads the NCAA in home runs per game (0.38) and ranks fourth in RBI per game (1.07).

Davis and Rogers (pictured left) were instrumental in helping the Roadrunners post a 42-18 record and win their second straight SLC regular season title with a 21-5 mark. UTSA currently leads the NCAA in home runs per game for the third consecutive season with 103 dingers in 60 games for a 1.72 average. The Roadrunners also have the nation’s top slugging percentage (.575) and rank second in batting average with a .335 mark and scoring with 6.28 runs per game. UTSA set single-season team records for wins (42), batting average (.335), runs (377), hits (566), home runs (103), RBI (351), total bases (972), on-base percentage (.392) and sacrifice flies (14) this year.

Davis and Rogers were joined by three other SLC players on the all-region team as Sam Houston State’s Lauren Boone and Shalayne Blythe made the first team at second base and the second team at pitcher, respectively, while Beth Jordan of tournament champion McNeese State was selected to the second team at first base.
