Dupree named Southland Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week
PLANO, Texas - UTSA junior All-American Ryanne Dupree has been named Southland Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the second time in three weeks, the league office announced Tuesday.
Dupree won her second straight Drake Relays title in the heptathlon with an NCAA provisional-qualifying point total of 5,331 points last week in Des Moines, Iowa. That mark leads the SLC by more than 3,000 points and is a slight improvement from her provisional 5,298-point performance in placing fourth at the Texas Relays in early April. Dupree also ran on UTSA’s fifth-place 4x200-meter relay team that clocked a season-best 1:37.43.
Dupree also garnered weekly honors on April 19 after a solid performance at the Spira Invitational in El Paso. UTSA now has grabbed five weekly outdoor honors as Latasha Sinclair and Rosalind Holmes were named Women’s Athlete of the Week on March 8 and 22, respectively, while freshman Luke Johnson received the men’s award on April 4.
The Roadrunners will take this weekend off in preparation for the SLC Outdoor Championships on May 13-15 in Huntsville, Texas.
