Jonas Hoglund Named Southland Conference Player of the Week
SAN ANTONIO - UTSA sophomore Jonas Hoglund, who has been working his way back from an injury suffered last season, was named Southland Conference Player of the Week after leading UTSA to a regular season-ending victory over Southeastern Louisiana this past Saturday.
Hoglund, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, scored a come-from-behind 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 win over Southeastern's Julien Lousao at the No. 4 singles position which helped fuel the Roadrunners to a 6-1 win over the Lions. Hoglund's three-set victory was one of four scored by UTSA players in singles. The win helped to secure the No. 3 seed for UTSA entering this weekend's Southland Conference Tennis Tournament at the UTSA Tennis Center, April 22-24.
The award is the second Player of the Week honor secured by a UTSA player this season, as Anthony Portois also won the award on Feb. 9
