Dennis Andrade and Ricardo Almeida to play final home match as UTSA hosts Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday

SAN ANTONIO - The dynamic Brazilian senior duo of Dennis Andrade and Ricardo Almeida will play in their final home regular season tennis match this Saturday, April 16 when the UTSA Roadrunners play host at the UTSA Tennis Center to the Southeastern Louisiana Lions. The match will begin at 12 noon.

UTSA, 13-6 overall and 3-2 in Southland Conference (SLC) play, is readying itself for the SLC Championships which will be held on April 22-24 at the UTSA.

Andrade and Almeida, both four-year lettermen at UTSA, are two of the most heralded players to ever play tennis for the Roadrunners. They came into the season ranked No. 50 nationally in doubles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and are 9-7 in doubles this spring. Almeida is 9-7 this season in singles, playing a variety of the top positions, while Andrade is 9-9, with five wins at No. 2.

"I love these guys," said UTSA coach Dr. Oliver Trittenwein. "Through thick and thin they have both remained faithful and true to the team, each other and me. These two men have made my life as a coach a joy to experience. It is wonderful to look back and see these players come into one's program, see them mature through the four years, experience the up's and down's in match play, and go through with them the rigors of course work and trying to graduate in four years. My heart's desire for them is to experience again the wonders of finishing on top as they did in 2002, when they came in as freshmen and were part of the 'wonder team' that won the SLC Tournament and took part in our first ever NCAA Tournament bid."
