Davis then singled with two outs and scored on a triple by Murray. Murray came home when the throw into third got away into the left field corner.
The Broncos got back to within three on a solo blast by Heckaman in the bottom of the third, but UTSA struck for two more in the top of the fourth on a long blast over the center field fence by senior Krystal Gibson that scored Torres, who had reached on a walk.
UTSA struck for three more in the sixth, again all with two outs. Davis singled for her fourth hit of the day, Murray walked and Rogers singled in the infield to load the bases. Els singled to center, scoring two and Ellison dropped an RBI-single into left center to increase the lead to 11-3.
