Texas-Pan American outlasts UTSA, 12-9

EDINBURG, Texas – Junior Ryan Crew had three hits and senior Chris Lewis and sophomore Michael McKennon drove in two runs each, but Texas-Pan American scored six runs in both the first and seventh innings en route to defeating UTSA, 12-9, in the final game of the Al Ogletree Classic Sunday at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

Crew, who also started on the mound and struck out eight over six and one-thirds of an inning, had three of 14 hits churned out by the Roadrunner offense Sunday night. Lewis had two hits, including a two-RBI double in the fifth.

The Broncs scored six runs on five hits in both the first and seventh innings and pounded out 11 hits on the evening in improving to 6-13 on the year. UTSA fell to 1-13.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday-Sunday, March 9-12, when they compete in the Alamo City Classic at Wolff Stadium.
