Roadrunners in fourth place, Elizondo tied for second, after two rounds of St. Croix Collegiate Classic First and Second Round Results
ST. CROIX, Virgin Islands - Junior John Elizondo is tied for second and the UTSA men’s golf team is tied for fourth place after two rounds of the St. Croix Collegiate Classic held at Carambola Golf Club (6,809 yards, par 72).
Elizondo fired a six-under-par 66 in the opening round on Friday and followed that with a 73 Saturday for a two-round total of five-under 139. He is in a tie for second place, just one stroke back of individual leader Jason Kokrak of Xavier (69-69=138).
The Roadrunners are tied with Charlotte for fourth place after carding rounds of 287 and 287 for a two-round tally of 574. Xavier leads at 570, followed by Lamar and Rhode Island at 573.
Sophomore Kitt Thabungkan is tied for fourth place at four-under 140 after rounds of 72 and 68. Sophomore Matt Johnston is tied for 30th (76-70=146), while freshmen Shane Costelloe and Nick Olivarri are tied for 60th (73-79=152) and 68th (77-76=153).
The final round tees off Sunday morning.
