Olivarri tied for sixth entering final round of Rice Intercollegiate Team Standings | Individual Standings

HOUSTON – UTSA freshman Nick Olivarri (Converse, Texas/Judson) is tied for sixth place after round one of the rain-shortened Rice Intercollegiate held at Wildcat Golf Club (6,954 yards, par 72) Monday.
Only one round was completed Monday due to rainy weather in the area, so the second round was cancelled.
Olivarri fired a one-over-par 37-36=73 and is one of six players two strokes back of the lead group of four (one-under 71).
In the team standings, the Roadrunners, who won this tournament last year at Black Horse Golf Club, are tied with Louisiana-Lafayette for 12th place after carding a 21-over 309. Sam Houston fired a 294 and holds a one-shot lead over Nebraska (295).
Individually for UTSA, junior John Elizondo and sophomore Matt Johnston are tied for 48th after recording a six-over 78 each. Freshman Shane Costelloe is tied for 64th (eight-over 80) and freshman Philipp Krohn is tied for 73rd (10-over 82).
The final round will tee of at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
