HOUSTON – UTSA juniors Rita Lambert and David Burnett posted a pair of individual victories, while senior Rosalind Holmes broke her own school record in the women’s 60 meters and junior All-American Ryanne Dupree recorded an NCAA qualifier in the women’s long jump to highlight a solid showing by the track and field teams at the Hyatt Regency Invitational Saturday at Bill Yeoman Field House.

In the final tune-up for the Southland Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 18-19 at this same facility, Lambert raced to a 3:00.08 clocking to win the women’s 1,000 meters, while Burnett won the men’s 400m with a 49.70 clocking, his fourth under-50-second performance of the year.

Senior Rosalind Holmes, who posted an NCAA provisional qualifier two weeks ago in the 200m (23.75) and was named SLC Indoor Athlete of the Week the following Tuesday, sped to a runner-up finish in the women’s 60m in 7.51, breaking her own UTSA record of 7.67 set last year. Marshavet Hooker of Texas won the 60m in 7.42.

Dupree leaped to an NCAA provisional-qualifying mark of 19-7 for third in the long jump. It was the second NCAA qualifier of the season for the reigning SLC Indoor Athlete of the Week, who turned in a school-record and provisional-qualifying 3,942 points in winning the Houston Invitational pentathlon here last Friday.

The women’s 4x400m relay also got in on the act, turning in a 3:49.80 for top honors ahead of Rice (3:54.49).

In other action, sophomore Morgan Moszee continued her breakout season in the horizontal jumps, skipping to a 37-11 Ľ measure for second in the triple jump. Junior Meghan Chance finished third in the women’s 1,000m in 3:04.35, while sophomore Lyndsey Sidney took fifth in the 60m hurdles in 8.73. For the men, freshman Luke Johnson finished fourth in the shot put (52-2 ˝) and fifth in the weight throw (50-7 Ľ).

UTSA will take next weekend off in preparation for the 2005 SLC Indoor Championships on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 18-19.
