UTSA women finish third, men sixth at Wes Kittley Six-Way

LUBBOCK, Texas - Junior All-American Ryanne Dupree won the women's long jump and posted two other top-three finishes to lead the UTSA women's track and field team to a third-place finish at the Wes Kittley Six-Way Saturday at Texas Tech's Athletic Training Center. The UTSA men scored a sixth-place finish in the team race.

Dupree (San Antonio, Texas) leaped 19-6 to win the long jump, measured 35-6 1/2 for second in the shot put and clocked an 8.06 for third in the 55-meter hurdles, helping the Roadrunners' effort.

In the team standings, UTSA scored 91 points for third behind Texas Tech (166.67) and Baylor (131.33). UTEP (59) and TCU (42) rounded out the top five.

Sophomore Morgan Moszee (San Antonio, Texas) finished second in the women's triple jump (38-9) and third in the long jump (19-2 3/4) to help the women's cause. Sophomore Lyndsey Sidney raced to an 8.04 clocking for runner-up honors in the 55m hurdles, while senior Roaslind Holmes and junior Meghan Chance also posted second-place finishes in the 200m (23.75) and 800m (2:20.05), respectively.

Freshman Luke Johnson (Amarillo, Texas) heaved 51-9 1/4 in the men's shot put to help a partial squad of Roadrunners finish sixth with 24 points. Florida won the men's race with 150 points.

In late Friday action at the Texas Tech All-Comers, junior transfer Justin Pitchford (Hinton, Okla.) won the men's 1,000m in 2:30.25 and freshman Brian Weirich (Fredericksburg, Texas) claimed top honors in the 800m (2:01.07) to highlight men's action, while the women's distance medley relay took first in 12:41.02.
