Sam Houston broke open a tight game at 24-23 with a 3-0 run to take a 27-23 lead. After two points by both teams, UTSA negated three consecutive Sam Houston game points on a Hunter kill and two attack errors, but Fowler came through with the winner from the middle.

UTSA limited Sam Houston to a -.030 hitting percentage in game two, while hitting .316 with 18 kills, seven from Tilson. The Roadrunners overcame an early 4-3 deficit with a 7-4 run for an 11-7 lead. The Bearkats hung around and eventually cut the lead to one at 15-14, but UTSA used a huge 12-1 run to open up a 27-15 lead. The Roadrunners hung on from there as senior Jennifer Emelogu ended it with a kill, 30-18.

The Roadrunners grabbed the early lead in game three and built a three-point advantage at 16-13, only to have the Bearkats rally to take the lead at 20-19 on an Engle kill. UTSA fought back to knot the score at 22-all on a kill by Daniel and used a 6-3 run for a 28-25 lead. Following a Bearkat point off the hands of Rhae Walderman, a Hunter kill and a Sam Houston attack error gave UTSA the 2-1 lead, 30-26.

UTSA never trailed in game four, staking a 6-3 lead out of the gates and holding on for the 30-26 win despite a late push by the Bearkats that pulled them to within three at 26-23. Holding on to a 28-26 lead, a kill and ace by Daniel ended the match, 30-26, giving UTSA the season split.
