Reed inducted into Golden Key International Honour Society

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - University of Texas at San Antonio women’s basketball senior guard Kim Reed (Dallas, Texas) was recently honored by and inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society, a non-profit group recognizing academic accomplishments of college juniors and seniors.

Reed graduated seventh in a class of 754 seniors at Dallas’ Skyline High School and has continued her classroom success in San Antonio. She has been recognized as a member of the UTSA Dean’s List, Honor Roll and Honor’s Circle. Reed was also nominated for and accepted to the National Dean’s List and was chosen to receive the Collegiate all-American Scholar Award for academic excellence.

“It’s only fitting that a high academic achiever like Kim be recognized by Golden Key,” said Golden Key CEO Alexander D. Perwich II. “Our members are inspired and motivated by the challenge not only to be recognized for their outstanding accomplishments but also to make a positive impact on our world through the society’s commitment to service.”

On the court, Reed started 28 of 29 games for the Roadrunners last season, leading the team with 88 assists. She notched her season high with 14 points against Northwestern State at home and dished out a career high nine assists at Texas State.

The society, which has 335 worldwide chapters, honors juniors and seniors in the top 15 of their class. Golden Key was founded more than 25 years ago in Atlanta, Ga.
