SAN ANTONIO - Senior Dennis Andrade, junior Joe Michael Olfindo and freshman Anthony Portois each won two singles matches apiece and advanced to Saturday's quarterfinals to highlight day one action at the UTSA/Sonterra Men's Tennis Inviational held at the UTSA Tennis Center.
Andrade scored wins over Amrit Narasimhan (7-5, 5-0 (ret.) of Tyler Junior College and Aurelio Martinez (6-2, 6-0) of Texas Southern. Olfindo defeated Oscar Castaneda (6-4, 6-0) of Texas Southern and Gary Bianco ((2-6, 6-1, 6-2) of Texas-Pan American, while Portois was victorious over Kenton Venhuisen (6-3, 6-2) of St. Edward's and Zack Malmgren (6-2, 1-6, 6-1) of Texas A&M.
