UTSA Cross Country releases 2004 schedule

SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA men's and women's cross country teams have announced the 2004 schedule, highlighted by two home meets and a trip to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Chile Pepper Invitational.

Fourth-year head coach Rose Monday and the Roadrunners open the fall campaign on Friday, Sept. 3, at the UT-Pan Am Relay Challenge in Edinburg, Texas. UTSA then travels to a pair of annual in-state meets, the Texas State Invitational on Sept. 11 and the Texas A&M Invitational on Sept. 18, before hosting the Whataburger/UTSA Invitational the following weekend on the 1604 Campus. The college races will be contested on Friday, Sept. 24, with the high school divisions following on Saturday.

The Pre-Southland Conference Meet is set for Oct. 11 in Beaumont, Texas. UTSA then makes its first trip to Arkansas' Chile Pepper Invitational on Oct. 16 before returning home to host rival Texas State in the second annual UTSA/Texas State Dual Meet on Oct. 27.

The Southland Conference Championships are set for Nov. 1, also in Beaumont, while the NCAA South Central Regional will be hosted by Baylor on Nov. 13 in Waco. The NCAA Championships are slated for Nov. 22 in Terre Haute, Ind.
