Chance named first team Academic All-District

SAN ANTONIO - UTSA sophomore Meghan Chance (San Antonio, Texas/Reagan) has been named to the Academic All-District VI University Women's Track and Field/Cross Country first team as voted on by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

Chance, the 2004 Southland Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Year, is a double-major in psychology and history and has been a solid contributor for the Roadrunners in track and cross country. She was a member of UTSA's conference champion distance medley relay team and also placed eighth in the 800 meters at this year's indoor meet. Outdoors, Chance qualified for the conference finals in the 800m and 1,500m and helped UTSA's distance medley and 4x800m relays to impressive showings at the Drake Relays in April. In last fall's SLC Cross Country Championships, Chance was UTSA's top finisher and 16th overall.

Chance was one of three SLC selections on the first team (Janice Ezegbunam, Southeastern Louisiana; Blake Gordon, Stephen F. Austin) and one of seven nominated with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
