Rogers named second team Academic All-District VI

SAN ANTONIO - UTSA sophomore Jessica Rogers has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VI University Division Women's Softball second team.

Rogers, a first team All-Southland Conference third baseman from Grand Prairie, Texas, was one of four infielders voted to the second team by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). District VI includes all four-year, Division I institutions in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Rogers, who sports a 3.84 grade point average in kinesiology, was one of five Southland Conference players selected to the first or second team.

Rogers leads UTSA in batting average (.392) and has 17 home runs, eight doubles, 46 RBI, 42 runs, a slugging percentage of .737, an on-base percentage of .438 and a fielding percentage of .963. She helped lead the Roadrunners (37-15) to SLC regular season and tournament crowns this season. 

UTSA received the automatic bid for the SLC by winning the postseason tournament on May 2. The Roadrunners will find out their NCAA regional assignment on Sunday, May 16, on ESPNews at 7 p.m.
