Dupree named SLC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week

PLANO, Texas - UTSA sophomore Ryanne Dupree has been named Southland Conference Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this year, the league office announced Tuesday.

Dupree won her second heptathlon title of the outdoor season last Thursday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. Dupree posted her second NCAA provisional-qualifying point total of the season with 5,087 points in outlasting Louisville's Kelly Faber (4,958) and 15 other competitors. Dupree owns the top heptathlon mark in the SLC, a personal-best 5,383-point effort in winning the Texas Relays on April 1.

It marks the fourth straight week a Roadrunner has earned the conference weekly honor and the eighth time this year including the indoor season.

UTSA is off until the SLC Outdoor Championships on May 15-17 in San Marcos, Texas.
