The Mavericks posted a pair of victories on courts three and four. Junior first-team all-conference player Massiel Martinez fell 6-2, 6-2 to Daniela Novakova at No. 3, while sophomore Barbara Mooney lost to Simri vonRooyen at No. 4, 6-3, 6-0. SLC Player of the Year Paula Erausquin was locked in a tight battle at No. 1 with UTA's Monika Peciulionyte, splitting the first two sets. However, the two would not be able to finish as the Mavs won straight set decisions at Nos. 6 and 2 to clinch the 4-0 victory and a spot in the title match against the winner of Northwestern State and McNeese State.. Freshman Ana Paula Soto lost to Jitka Vetrovcova at No. 6, 6-3, 6-1, and sophomore Nadezda Rossikhina fell to Marketa Cizova at No. 2, 6-4, 6-4.
