UTSA takes on the defending Southland Conference Tournament Champs in McNeese State. It will be the first SLC series of the season at Roadrunner Field where the Runners are 2-1 on the season. The Roadrunners, 7-7 SLC, enter the weekend in a fifth-place tie with Sam Houston State in the league standings, while the Cowboys, 5-10 SLC, are tied for eighth with Louisiana-Monroe. 

The Series: 
UTSA vs. McNeese State 
The Cowboys lead the all-time series with the Roadrunners by the count of 21-14. McNeese State has taken the last five series with UTSA, 2-1, including last year's matchup in Lake Charles. The last UTSA series win came in 1997 when the Runners won two out of three. UTSA is 4-8 against McNeese under head coach Sherman Corbett.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Junior Aaron Rodriguez pitched a complete game and sophomore J.R. Voyles hit a two-run homer that proved to be the difference as UTSA won game two of a doubleheader with Texas A&M-Corpus Christ, 3-1. The Islanders took game one, 8-4, despite a grand slam from sophomore Ryan Crew.

At the Helm

Fourth year head coach Sherman Corbett is the third UTSA skipper in baseball history. With an overall record of 84-85 (.429) entering the 2004 season, Corbett has posted more wins in his first three seasons than either coach before him.
