UTSA women host Incarnate Word in home finale

SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA women's tennis team will host Incarnate Word (9-3) on Thursday, April 8, at 3 p.m at the UTSA Tennis Center. This will be the 2004 home finale for the 8-10 Roadrunners and the final home match of senior Kateryna Romanenko's career. Admission is free.

UTSA is coming off a 1-2 road swing in Louisiana last weekend. The Roadrunners dropped a pair of 4-3 decisions to Louisiana Tech and Northwestern State on Friday and Sunday, but handled Louisiana-Monroe, 6-1, on Saturday to get their eighth win of the season. With the 1-1 mark against NSU and ULM, UTSA wrapped up the Southland Conference regular season with a 7-3 record.

Romanenko (Kiev, Ukraine) will close out her UTSA home career against the Crusaders. She has an 11-6 overall dual match record this spring. That includes a 7-2 mark in the SLC for the two-time all-conference pick. Her career singles record entering Thursday's match stands at 40-15.

Juniors Paula Erausquin and Massiel Martinez also boast solid singles records this spring. Erausquin is 8-2 in the SLC, all at No. 1 singles, and 11-7 overall, while Martinez is 8-1 in conference, playing the majority of her matches at No. 3, and 10-7 overall.
