UTSA golfers tie for seventh at Louisiana Classics Final Results
SAN ANTONIO - Sophomore John Elizondo tied for 33rd place to help lead the UTSA men's golf team to a tie for seventh at the Louisiana Classics hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette at Oakbourne Country Club (par 72 - 7,083 yards) Monday-Tuesday.
Elizondo turned in rounds of 78, 75 and 71 for a three-round total of eight-over-par 224. Freshmen Kitt Thabungkan and Matt Johnston tied for 39th at 225, while seniors Mike Mezei and Luke Healy tied for 46th (226) and 51st (227), respectively.
SMU won the team title at 290-284-291=865, followed by Kansas (866), Texas Tech (868), Tulsa (879) and Texas A&M (882) in the top five. LSU was sixth (883), followed by the Roadrunners and Tennessee in seventh (892).
UTSA will return to the course on Monday-Tuesday, March 22-23, when it competes in the Chenal Trojan Cup in Little Rock, Ark.
