Fall Review: Under the direction of head coach Chris Donielson, UTSA enjoyed one of the finest fall campaigns in school history in 2003. The Roadrunners opened the season with a victory at the Falcon Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo., beating Utah by three stroke (859-862) behind Mezei's individual title. After a fifth-place showing at the Baylor Invitational, the Roadrunners posted a runner-up finish at Missouri's Nestle/Purina Classic. The following week, UTSA won its second team trophy of the fall with an eight-stroke victory over Stephen F. Austin at the Crown Colony Classic in Lufkin. Elizondo won individual medalist honors on the first playoff hole. The Roadrunners concluded the fall with a runner-up performance at the Del Walker Collegiate in Long Beach, Calif. |
