Youngblood tabbed SLC Indoor Men's Athlete of the Year
PLANO, Texas - UTSA senior All-American Justin Youngblood has been voted Southland Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year in after his record-setting performance at the league's championship meet over the weekend.
Youngblood, who hails from Goliad, Texas, took first place in the heptathlon with a UTSA-record 5,483 points, provisionally qualifying him for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships next month. He was just 17 points shy of an automatic qualifying mark. He also placed fifth in the long jump (23-3 1/4), fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.22) and sixth in the high jump (6-7 1/2).
