UTSA women fall to No. 62 Rice, 6-1

HOUSTON — Junior Paula Erausquin pulled off an upset at No. 2 singles, but No. 62 Rice proved too strong in a 6-1 victory over the Roadrunners on Saturday at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.

Erausquin defeated No. 51-ranked Lauren Archer at No. 2 singles in three sets, 4-6, 7-6, 1-0 (8), for UTSA's only win of the day. She improves to 2-2 on the season in singles action, but UTSA falls to 1-3 overall.

The Roadrunners return to action on Friday, Feb. 27, when they face Texas A&M in College Station.
