UTSA men set to compete at Red Raiders Classic

SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA men's track and field team will hit the road for the third consecutive week, traveling to Lubbock, Texas, to compete in the Red Raiders Classic on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Texas Tech Athletic Training Center. Field events are scheduled to get underway at 9:30 a.m., followed by running events at 12:30 p.m.

The Roadrunners turned in another solid performance at the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational in Baton Rouge, La., last Saturday. Sophomore T. R. Sissel (Junction, Texas) won the 400 meters in 50.27 seconds and senior All-American Justin Youngblood (Goliad, Texas) finished third overall and second among collegiate competitors in the 60m hurdles with a season-best 8.11 clocking to highlight the day for UTSA. Youngblood also posted the team's top mark of the season in the long jump, a 22-9 measure good for 10th in the championship flight. He was named to the Southland Conference Honor Roll for the second straight week for his efforts.
