SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA men's basketball team travels to Waco, Texas, to face the Baylor Bears on Saturday, Dec. 13. Tip is set for 7 p.m., at the Ferrell Center. The game will be carried by the Roadrunner Radio Network on KSJL Radio 92.5 FM and 810 AM with the pre-game show beginning at 6:30 p.m.

LAST GAME
UTSA lost 86-83 in double overtime at home to Texas-Pan American. The loss broke a string of six straight overtime wins for the Roadrunners. Sergio Sanchez led the Broncs with 24 points, while LeRoy Hurd had 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead five double-figure scorers for UTSA. After trailing for the majority of the game, UTSA rallied to tie the score at the end of regulation on two Anthony Fuqua free throws with 25 seconds to play. After Hurd fouled out late in the first overtime, UTPA scored the first six points of the second overtime and were never headed.

THE COACH
Tim Carter is in his ninth season at UTSA and has a career record of 116-113 (.507) with the Roadrunners and 127-129 (.496) overall ...He scored his 100th career win on Dec.1,2001 over Illinois State and his 100th win at UTSA on Feb.4,2002 at Texas-Arlington ...He is the winningest men's basketball coach in UTSA history and has the longest tenure ...Carter was named the 1999 SLC "Coach of the Year"...He came to UTSA after one season at Nebraska-Omaha. He has served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma (1984), Midwestern State (1984-86), Houston (1986-87), Oklahoma State (1987-90) and Northwestern (1990-94).

HOME SWEET HOME
Tough to beat in the UTSA Convocation Center, the Roadrunners have an all-time home record of 198-84 (.702) in the Convo.

WORKING OVERTIME
Despite the double overtime loss in game six this season to Texas-Pan American, UTSA is 9-7 all-time in extra session games under coach Tim Carter. The Roadrunners went 3-0 last season in overtime games with wins over Idaho State, Lamar and Nicholls State. The loss to UTPA broke a string of six consecutive overtime wins for UTSA.

16 AND COUNTING
UTSA men's basketball is 16 wins away from 350 as a program. UTSA has averaged 15.2 wins a season as a program over the first 22 years.

SCHEDULE NOTES
UTSA will play three games this season against teams which appeared in the 2003 NCAA Tournament --Oklahoma State, New Mexico State an Sam Houston State. The Roadrunners have the opportunity to play Alaska-Fairbanks, Binghamton, St.Mary's (Calif.), Virginia Military Institute, Washington State, New Mexico State, San Francisco, Utah State, Texas-Tyler and Elmhurst for the first time in school history this season.

HOME SWEET DOME
UTSA will host Texas A&M on Dec.18 at the downtown Alamodome. It will be the Roadrunners' second game ever in the facility that has played host to three men's regionals and two Final Fours. UTSA is the host institution for the 2004 Men's Final Four to be played at the Alamodome on April 3-5.

DOUBLE DUKE
UTSA senior LeRoy "Duke" Hurd scored in double figures in 24 of 28 career games at UTSA. The Southland Conference's leading scorer at 17.6 points per game last year, Hurd had four double-double's last season and has two more this season with 14 points and 13 rebounds against Idaho State and 25 points, 12 rebounds against Texas-Pan American. He also opened this season by earning All-Tournament honors at the Top of the World Classic.

CLIMBING THE LIST
With 485 points, Hurd is No. 36 on the all-time UTSA scoring list. He needs 15 points to reach 500 for his career. He needs 20 points to move past Tom Oswald into 35th all-time.

GO FIGURE
It has long been said that whomever wins the battle of the boards usually wins the game. So far this season that hasn't been true for UTSA, which is 0-3 in games they have prevailed on the glass. Overall UTSA has been out-rebounded 221-209.

ROADRUNNERS vs. BEARS
The two schools have met eight times previously, with Baylor holding a 5-3 all-time series advantage. The two haven't met since Dec.19, 1992, when the Bears prevailed 89-72 in San Antonio. The last meeting in Waco was Nov.25,1991, with Baylor winning 79-73.
