Tournament Schedule SAN ANTONIO - UTSA (18-13, 13-7) begins play as the No. 5 seed in the 2003 SLC Volleyball Championships on Friday at 7 p.m. against No. 4 McNeese State at the Convocation Center. UTSA has won two consecutive matches and five of their last seven contests. The ‘Runners will look for the home court advantage to continue as they are 8-3 this season at "The Bird Cage.” UTSA Head Coach Laura Groff makes her first postseason appearance in just her second season with the Roadrunners. She is 26-37 (.413) at UTSA.
The Field: Texas State is the regular season champion and the No. 1 seed in this year’s tournament. The Bobcats are 22-7 overall and 18-2 in SLC play and have won four consecutive matches.
Stephen F. Austin enters the postseason as the No. 2 seed with an overall record of 19-12 and 15-5 in league play. The Ladyjacks are riding a seven-match win streak.
Texas-Arlington begins defense of its 2002 SLC Tournament title as the No. 3 seed. The Lady Mavericks, who also took the regular season crown in 2002, are 16-12 overall and 14-6 in SLC play.
McNeese State is atop a three-way tie for fourth place with UTSA and Nicholls State and will take the No. 4 seed in the tournament. The Cowgirls are 15-15 overall and 13-7 in the SLC.
UTSA finished the regular season with an overall record of 18-13 and is 13-7 in league play. The Roadrunners are the No. 5 seed.
Nicholls State rounds out the field as the No. 6 seed with an overall mark of 15-14 and 13-7 in the SLC.

Farwell Fry: UTSA senior middle blocker Teri Fry will grace the court as a player for the last time this weekend. A four-year letterman for the Roadrunners, she is sixth all-time at UTSA in solo blocks (61) and eighth in total blocks (234).
