SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA women's basketball team opens the 2003-04 season against No. 6 Texas Tech on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at United Spirit Arena. Listen to the live webcast.

About the Game
UTSA opens the 2003-04 season against a Lady Raider team that advanced to its fourth Elite Eight as the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament in 2002-03. The winner will continue tournament play Nov. 16 against the winner of the Rhode Island, Western Kentucky game.

The Series
Texas Tech leads 8-0. The Roadrunners have not faced the Lady Raiders under Rae Blair’s tutelage, with the last meeting taking place in 1998.

The Coaches
Rae Rippetoe-Blair was named the 2002-03 SLC Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons earlier this week. She has a three-year record of 50-35 (58.8%) and a 157-79 (66.5%) overall. She needs one win to move into third place on the school’s all-time win list. Marsha Sharp is in her 21st year with a record of 508-159 (76.2%).

Last Meeting
Tech won 96-39, December 2, 1998 in Lubbock. That year the Lady Raiders won the Big 12 Regular Season and Tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16. UTSA is 9-33 all-time against teams currently in the Big 12.
