Roadrunners to host first-ever UTSA/Texas State Dual Meet Thursday

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's and women's cross country teams return to the course on Thursday, Oct. 23, when they host Texas State in a first-ever dual meet at the UTSA Cross Country Course. Both races will be two miles, with the men's gun going off at 4 p.m., followed by the women at 4:15.

The Roadrunners last competed on Oct. 4 at the Texas State Classic in San Marcos, Texas. Senior Henry Maruping won the men's five-mile trek to lead the men to a fourth-place finish in the team standings. He earned his second Southland Conference Runner of the Week honor for his efforts. The women finished second in the team race with 36 points behind Texas (15). Individually, senior Letitia Gilkes and freshman Meghan Chance finished seventh and ninth, respectively, to lead the charge.

The Texas State Dual Meet will be the final tuneup for both teams before the Southland Conference Championships on Monday, Nov. 3, in Huntsville, Texas.
