SAN ANTONIO — Redshirt freshman Martin Board's final-round 72 led UTSA to a 294 on Tuesday, the team's top 18 holes of the tournament, and the Roadrunners finished the Oak Hill Invitational in a 12th-place tie in the 15-team field.

Board recorded a pair of birdies en route to his top round of the 2011-12 campaign. The Midland native finished the two-day event with a 227 (79-76-72), which was good for 57th place.

Meanwhile, sophomore Ryan Werre was UTSA's top finisher in 15th, but he dropped 10 spots in the standings of finishing the final 18 holes with a four-over-par 75. Werre carded a 217 (72-70-75), which was a nine-shot improvement from a year ago.

Freshman Stanton Tondre completed his tournament with his second 73 in as many rounds and that enabled him to place 25th in the final standings. Tondre recorded three birdies, which pushed his two-day total to eight, and he finished the tournament at 220 (74-73-73).

Rounding out the Roadrunners' scoring were juniors Taylor Koser (228=78-76-74) and Mitchell Griffin (238=81-77-80), who placed 59th and 78th, respectively.

Texas Tech rallied with a final-round 282 (-2) and the Red Raiders won the event for the fourth consecutive year with a team total of 859 (290-287-282). No. 34 Oklahoma (862=288-284-290) and 32nd-ranked Baylor (865=292-284-289) rounded out the top three.

Meanwhile, the individual championship came down to a sudden death playoff between Baylor's Joakim Mikkelsen (71-71-68) and Texas Tech's Clement Sordet (73-71-66), who both finished atop the leaderboard at 210. It took the pair three tries on the 18th hole to determine the medalist, but Mikkelsen came out on top. The enabled him to offset Sordet's third-round 66, which was the top 18 holes of the tournament.

UTSA will be back in action next week at the Rice Intercollegiate. The two-day tournament is scheduled to tee off on Monday, Feb. 20.
