SAN ANTONIO — No. 67 UTSA made quick work of Texas-Pan American with a 7-0 home victory on Friday.
The Roadrunners (4-6, 1-1 SLC) took an early lead against the Broncs (3-2, 0-1 SLC) after sweeping the doubles session, including an 8-1 win by juniors Martin Ayala and Tyler Brown at the No. 2 spot.
UTSA carried the momentum into singles play and won all six singles matches in straight sets, including an impressive 6-2, 6-1 victory for freshmen Joel Rubio at the fourth spot.
Reigning Southland Conference Player of the Week Yannick Junger continued his solid play by blanking Beau Bernstein, 7-5, 6-3, at the top position.
The Roadrunners return to the courts at 12 p.m. on Sunday when they host No. 45 Portland.
