BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — UTSA was swept by unbeaten Samford on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (8-0) swept all three doubles tilts to take an early lead and they went on to claim five of the six singles contests in straight sets.
UTSA (5-2) nearly picked up a point at No. 6 singles when freshman Irene Gandara Gonzalez won the opening set, 6-1. However, Emily Mallory battled back to win the final two sets (7-6 [7-4], 1-0 [10-4]) to secure the sweep.
The Roadrunners will wrap up their stay in the Yellowhammer State on Sunday with a 10 a.m. match against UAB.
