Roadrunners drop 5-2 decision at Wichita State on Friday

WICHITA, Kan. — UTSA won the doubles point but dropped five of the six singles matches and Wichita State cruised a 5-2 victory on Friday afternoon at the Genesis Health Club.

The Roadrunners (0-2) picked up the win in the doubles session after winning both the No. 2 and 3 contests.

Sophomores Yannick Junger and Kolby Kilgo teamed up for an 8-5 triumph at the second position, while senior Daniel Moser and freshman Joel Rubio won their match by the same score.

However, the Shockers (1-1) rebounded to win five their singles tilts in straight sets.

Rubio claimed UTSA's lone singles point after knocking off Juan Estenssoro in three frames (6-2, 3-6, 1-0 [10-8]).

The Roadrunners return to the court at 1 p.m. on Saturday against Air Force (2-0).
