MCKINNEY — Junior-to-be Taylor Newlin continued herwinning ways with a 6 and 5 match-play victory on Wednesday morning in thesecond round of the Women's Texas Golf Association (WTGA) State AmateurChampionship, which is being played on the Dye Course at Stonebridge RanchCountry Club.
The Frisco native defeated Fort Worth's Chaney Uhles and shenow will face Talia Campbell, who will begin her freshman campaign at NotreDame this fall, in the quarterfinals, which tees off at 8 a.m. on Thursday. Thewinner of that match will move on to the 1 p.m. semifinal round and square off against either Mina Hardin or Jennifer Park.
Friday's championship match will tee off at 9:30 a.m.
