CONWAY, Ark. — Central Arkansas scored six runs in the third and the Bears rolled to a 12-1 victory on Saturday at Bear Stadium. The game was called in the bottom of the eighth due to the Southland Conference's run rule.

UCA (18-21, 12-11 SLC) sent 10 batters to the plate in the decisive frame that started with Jonathan Davis' double off the left-field wall. The Bears collected a total of five hits, including a go-ahead single by Bryan Willson, and took advantage of one error by the Roadrunners (18-25, 7-16 SLC) to put the contest out of reach.

Central Arkansas added two more marks in the fourth and Blake Roberts ended the game with a pinch-hit, three-run homer in the eighth.

Right-handed starter Caleb McClanahan (4-3) limited UTSA to just one run on four hits and he struck out four. He retired the final 14 batters he faced in the complete-game performance.

Forrestt Allday and Willson each collected a pair of hits and drove in a run for UCA.

The Bears scored the contest's first run in the opening frame.

Davis drew a leadoff walk and then stole second on the next pitch. Ethan Harris followed with a sacrifice bunt that allowed Davis to advance to third and he later scored on Allday's groundout to short.

The Roadrunners tied things up in the following panel when sophomore Mike Warren belted his first career home run over the left-field wall.

However, it was all UCA from that point on, as McClanahan held UTSA scoreless over the final six stanzas.

Sophomore Michael Kraft (7-4) lost his first game since March 31 after surrendering six runs (four earned) on three hits and four walks in only 2.1 innings.

The set will conclude at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
