The UTSA football program will host a walk-on tryout at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 26. The tryout will be held at the UTSA practice fields adjacent to the Roadrunner Athletics Center of Excellence (RACE) on Main Campus.

If you are interested in trying out for the football team, complete the information below and return to Andrew Acosta via email. If any of the below information is not received at the required time, you will not be allowed to try out. You will receive confirmation from Andrew Acosta when all items are received. You cannot try out without clear confirmation from Andrew Acosta.  

You will need to wear your own workout gear and cleats for the tryout. Any questions about the tryout process can be sent to Andrew Acosta, Director of Football Operations, via email. Please note, only full-time, currently enrolled UTSA students will be permitted to try out. 

Answers and paperwork for No. 1 through No. 12 need to be sent via email to Andrew Acosta on or before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21.

10. Picture of insurance card (front and back). If you do not have insurance, you cannot participate in the tryout.

11. Sickle cell trait test results (click here). Please get this done as soon as possible, as results take at least 2-3 days to get back.

12. Results of a physical given by a licensed physician. (PA sign offs are NOT ACCEPTED … needs to be signed by an MD only!) within the last year (download form).
