SAN ANTONIO — The Roadrunners are set to host Tarleton at 1 p.m., Feb. 15, at the UTSA Tennis Center and Houston at 11 a.m., Feb. 16, in San Antonio, Texas.
UTSA is off to a perfect 10-0 start, including a 3-0 home and 7-0 away records. This is the best start the Roadrunners have had in the 21st century. This will be the first time that the Roadrunners are at the UTSA Tennis Center since Saturday, Feb. 1.
Since 2007, the Roadrunners have a 0-2 record against Tarleton and a 2-6 record against Houston. In their last matchup, the Roadrunners lost to Tarleton 3-4 in Stephenville, Texas Mar. 9. In the last match against Houston, UTSA beat Houston 4-2 in Houston on Feb. 23.
The Roadrunners have had an impressive start to the season, outscoring their opponents 46-5. In singles, the Roadrunners have a 37-4 record with Arina Babenko and Ekua Youri leading the team in wins, both are 7-0. In doubles, the Roadrunners are 20-5 with a tandem of Valeria Sanchez and Youri leading the team as they are 6-0.
After the two matches this weekend, UTSA will have its first conference match against South Florida at 10 a.m. on Feb. 21 in Tampa, Fla.
