Q: Why did you choose UTSA?
Tomás Pinho: "I decided to come to UTSA because San Antonio is a great city with a lot of fun things to explore, the school in terms of sports was growing a lot and I wanted to be part of the group of athletes that helped UTSA to be recognized around the country."
Q: What do you like most about being a student-athlete at UTSA?
Tomás Pinho: "Definitely the best things are enjoying all of the great facilities they provide for us athletes and the help we get from the staff to make sure everything is in order - such as academics and nutrition - so we can perform in our sport."
Q: How did you first get involved in playing tennis?
Tomás Pinho: "I was introduced to the sport at a very young age - 4 years old. My family was and still is very passionate about the sport. I grew up watching a lot of my family members play, so I decided to try it."
Q: What is an interesting fact about you that most people might not know?
Tomás Pinho: "I am addicted to everything that as chocolate in it."
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life?
Tomás Pinho: "Definitely my grandpa because he was also a sports guy and he showed me how to approach any sport the right way."
Q: Who is your sports role model?
Tomás Pinho: "His name is Ben Whittaker. He is a professional boxer from the UK and the reason is that I can relate to his story."
