SAN ANTONIO – Riding a three-game win streak that's propelled the best start to a season since 2010, UTSA will look to continue to defend home court in a holiday hoops tournament – the 210 San Antonio Shootout presented by Drury Hotels – which will run from Nov. 25-28, featuring two games a day across three days of action. Dartmouth, Grambling State and UIW make up the weekend field.
The Roadrunners (4-1) begin tournament action on Friday, Nov. 25 in a first-time meeting with the Grambling State Tigers (2-2). In fact, UTSA will be meeting all three teams for the first time this weekend on the hardwood. Friday's game is set to tip off at 7:30 p.m. and will be streamed on CUSA.tv and broadcast on Ticket 760 AM. UTSA's Friday game is the second of the day as UIW (2-3) and Dartmouth (1-3) will kick the tournament off at 5 p.m.
The tournament will take a one-day hiatus on Saturday before returning to action on Sunday, Nov. 27 where the action will begin with a Grambling State-UIW showdown at 5 p.m., followed by the Roadrunners meeting the Dartmouth Big Green at 7:30 p.m. Sunday's game will again be streamed on CUSA.tv and broadcast on Ticket 760 AM.
The tournament rounds out on Monday, as Grambling State and Dartmouth meet in the penultimate game at 3 p.m. while UTSA meets cross-town foe UIW at 6:30 p.m. Monday night's game against UIW will be streamed on CUSA.tv and broadcast on Ticket 760 AM.

Leading the Roadrunners
UTSA has been led on offense by newcomer guards Japhet Medor and John Buggs III through five games of action. Medor is averaging a team-high 12.8 points per game and leads the team in assists, having tallied 22 to date. Buggs rounds out the dynamic backcourt posting an average of 11.6 points per game. Buggs is shooting a team-high 45.2% from deep and has knocked down a triple in all five games on the year.
Senior stalwart Jacob Germany is the third Roadrunner averaging double-digit scoring as the fourth-year Roadrunner out of Kingston, Okla. is churning out 10.8 points per contest. Germany, a 2021-22 Conference USA All-Conference Honorable Mention, adds 5.2 rebounds per game to go along with a team-high 1.3 blocks per game.
Sophomore Josh Farmer has made a leap in his second season with the Roadrunners. In the season opener, Farmer recorded a double-double with a career-high 17 points and 12 boards. He made his first career start against St. Mary's and has now started in three straight contests. Farmer leads UTSA's rebounding efforts, notching six boards a game.
Overall, the Roadrunners are shooting 42.6 percent as a team from the field and holding foes to 38 percent. UTSA averages 67.6 points, 38.8 rebounds, 12 assists, 4.8 steals and 4.6 blocks per game as a team.
Scouting the Field
UTSA's first opponent, Grambling State, is led offensively by St. Louis transfer Carte'Are Gordon who is averaging 15.7 ppg. Gordon also leads the Tigers' rebounding efforts, averaging seven boards a contest. Texas State's bench is led by fifth-year student and Iowa State transfer Terrence Lewis who is contributing 9.3 ppg. Overall, the Tigers shoot 38.6% from the floor and just 26.7% from beyond the arc as they average 65.5 points per game as a team.
The Dartmouth Big Green are led by the offensive trio of Dusan Neskovic (16.3), Ryan Cornish (13.3) and Cade Haskins (11) as all three average double-digit points. The Big Green average 10.8 three-pointers made per contest on their way to scoring roughly 81 points per game as a team. Dame Adelekun leads Dartmouth in rebounding, notching six a game.
Incarnate Word is led by sophomore guard Charlie Yoder who averages a team-high 14.4 points per as he is the lone Cardinal averaging double-digits. The team's second-leading scorer, Niki Krause (9 ppg), leads the team in rebounding with 5.5 a game and leads the team in assists having notched 19 to date. The Cardinals shoot 44.7 percent from the floor and 34 percent from three-point land to average 70.6 points per contest.
Series History
Though it's been around for 41 years, UTSA's men's basketball program will be meeting all three teams for the first time ever this weekend.

UTSA will be back in action after a week and a half break when it heads to Albuquerque to face the New Mexico Lobos on Dec. 10 in a game that is set to begin at 3 p.m. The Dec. 10 game will be streamed on Mountain West Network and be broadcast on Ticket 760 AM.
