LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The UTSA women's tennis team dropped their second match of the weekend to UNLV Saturday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
UNLV took an early lead by winning the doubles point. A win at No. 3 was followed with a second for UNLV as Jasmin Starr and Sophie Omoworare were defeated 6-1 by their opponents at No. 1.
Trailing 1-0, the Roadrunners were unable to claim a match point. Three consecutive wins for UNLV closed the match 4-0. Wins at No. 5 and No. 6 by forfeit gave UNLV an advantage as Starr dropped a 6-1, 6-3 match at No. 2.
UTSA will return to the court for a home doubleheader against Prairie View A&M April 3 starting at 10 a.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
