Roadrunners fall to Golden Eagles

SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Southern Miss Friday night at Park West Athletics Complex.
 
Southern Miss took the lead with an early goal within the first five minutes.
 
In the 26th minute, a second Golden Eagle shot found the back of the net.
 
Two minutes later, the Golden Eagles earned a penalty kick and snuck the ball past the keeper.
 
UTSA had six shots during the first half led by Mackenzie Kaufhold's two attempts.
 
Coming out of the break, the Roadrunners were able to score within the first 30 seconds. Deja Sandoval got her foot on the ball off a corner kick from of Ellis Patterson.
 
UTSA had seven shot for the second half. Jil Schneider played all 90 minutes with two saves.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Sunday at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
