ARLINGTON, Texas – UTSA men's tennis claimed points on four of the five singles courts, pacing a 4-1 win for the Roadrunners at UT Arlington, on Saturday afternoon at the Arlington Tennis Center.
UTSA (4-2) dominated UT Arlington (1-3) in singles, winning on four of the five courts. The teams did not compete in doubles due to inclement weather.
"Today was a very good win for us," UTSA head coach Sergey Avdeyev said. "Very proud of how we had to come from behind to win the match. Our guys showed lots of heart. Definitely a team effort in what was a very important win for us."
Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) and Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile) each improved to 4-1 in singles on the year with wins on court 1 and court 4. Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujilo, Peru) posted a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win on court 2 and Javier Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) claimed a 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 win on court 6.
The Roadrunners will return to action on Sunday at SMU (7-6) at 9 a.m. at the SMU Tennis Complex.
