Dunlop agrees to terms with Chargers

COSTA MESA, Calif. — Former UTSA offensive lineman Josh Dunlop has agreed to terms on a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Chargers, the organization announced late Saturday.

A native of Zionsville, Ind., Dunlop earned a start in 31 of 35 games played during his three-year UTSA career. A versatile lineman, Dunlop saw action at both tackle and guard after transferring to the Roadrunners from Dodge City Community College in Kansas.

Dunlop earned honorable mention All-Conference USA accolades as a senior in 2019 after starting all 12 contests at right tackle. He was a key part of a unit that helped UTSA post 4,139 yards of offense, including a ground attack that tallied 1,950 yards and a passing offense that produced 2,189, He started in the 35-7 season-opening victory over UIW and helped the Roadrunners churn out 284 rushing yards, the eighth-best total in school history. Dunlop also helped UTSA register 320 yards on the ground — which ranks No. 3 on the program's single-game chart — behind two 100-yard rushers in the 26-16 road win at UTEP on Oct. 5.

As a junior in 2018, Dunlop started at right guard in each of the first five games before sliding out to start at the right tackle position for the final seven contests.

Dunlop played in all 11 contests and drew seven starts at left tackle in his first season in San Antonio in 2017.
