Men’s Tennis ventures to Lamar for the Ron Wesbrooks Invite

SAN ANTONIO -- After competing at the ITA All-Americans last weekend in Tulsa, UTSA men's tennis will continue its fall on the road, venturing to participate in the Ron Wesbrooks Invitational, hosted by Lamar in Beaumont, Texas, Friday-Sunday. 
 
UTSA will join five other schools in the event, including Lamar, Nicholls, UT Arlington and Tyler Junior Colllege. 
 
In doubles, UTSA will use the pairing of Joao Alcantra (Santos, Brazil) and Alan Sanson (Santiago, Chile) on Friday vs. a pair from Tyler JC, Matthew Beecher and Ryo Minakata at 2 p.m. Patrick Poestinger (Ennsdorf, Austria) and Kaito Nishihara (Wichita Falls, Texas) will face UT Arlington's Ricardo Alban and Solano Caffarena at 2 p.m.
 
In singles, Sanson will face Alejandro Hayen at 3 p.m. on Friday. Alcantra is slated to face Rohit Patel from Tyler at 3 p.m. on Friday. Nishihara has a bye on Friday in singles, with his first match on Saturday at 10 a.m. against Nicholls' Antoine Martin-Thiriat.
