SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's tennis team swept Laredo Community College, 7-0 to post a pair of wins over a two-match day on Thursday at the UTSA Tennis Center.
UTSA (10-8) extended its winning streak to four straight with wins over Southern Miss (7-2) and Laredo CC on Thursday. It also marked senior day for the Roadrunners on Thursday, who honored graduated student Mariah Plauth and senior Charleen Tiwari.
The Roadrunners earned the doubles point behind a sweep on each of the three courts, including Jasmin Starr and Kylee Kato on court 1, Sophie Omororare and Catalina Cabrique on court 2, and Plauth and Diya Menon on court 3.
The six doubles competitors then earned all six points in singles, including a 6-1, 6-0 win from Menon, a 6-0, 6-1 win from Plauth and a 6-0, 7-5 win from Laura Cabrera.
UTSA returns to action with a pair of matches in Las Vegas next week, facing Columbia on Friday and UNLV on Saturday.
