Arinze garners C-USA Spirit of Service Award

IRVING, Texas – UTSA senior women's indoor track & field standout Jennifer Arinze is among 14 Conference USA student-athletes to receive the C-USA Winter Spirit of Service Award, the league office announced Friday.

The C-USA Spirit of Service Award is designed to recognize the community service efforts of the league's student-athletes, based upon significant community service, good academic standing and participation in their elected sport. The Spirit of Service Award is presented three times throughout the season, with today's honorees representing winter sports: men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field and women's swimming & diving.

Arinze participated in a mentor program throughout the entire fall semester at Carnahan Elementary school. She was an active volunteer for Dreamrunners student panels, helped with Game Week Wednesday activities, assisted with Cantoberfest and worked with the Fall For The Kids Fashion Show. Arinze maintains a 3.04 GPA in psychology and most recently earned All-C-USA Third Team honors in the 4x400m relay team at the 2018 C-USA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
