Baseball rolls past Incarnate Word, to host Florida Atlantic this weekend
The baseball team jumped out to a 14-0 lead through three innings and cruised to a 16-0 victory against Incarnate Word on Tuesday night at Roadrunner Field.

UTSA (18-17) pounded out 17 hits, led by Jesse Baker, Ben Brookover, Kevin Markham and C.J. Pickering with three apiece. Meanwhile, the pitching staff held the Cardinals (16-21) to four hits with Steven Dressler earning the win after striking out three and allowing just two hits in five innings.

The Roadrunners will host Florida Atlantic in a three-game Conference USA series this weekend. First pitch on Friday is slated for 6 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. start on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday.

UTSA enters the weekend set in a tie with Marshall and Middle Tennessee for sixth place in the league standings at 7-8.

Meanwhile, the Owls are 24-10-1 overall and in second place at 11-4 in conference.

Softball to honor eight seniors this weekend
The softball team will honor eight seniors — Randee Crawford, Alyssa Cummings, Madison Kinley, Nicole Merrill, Angelica Niño, Taylor Oberg, Chelsea Parker, Kaley Pyles — after Sunday's finale of a three-game Conference USA series against Louisiana Tech at Roadrunner Field. First pitch in a Saturday doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m., followed by Sunday's 1 p.m. contest.

The Roadrunners (17-27) are looking to keep pace in the race for one of the eight spots in the C-USA Tournament, which will be contested from May 10-13 in Hattiesburg, Miss.

UTSA enters the weekend in a tie with Southern Miss for ninth place in the league and fourth in the West Division at 7-11.

The Lady Techsters (29-15) lead the West and own the second-best winning percentage in the league at .800 with their 12-3 mark behind Marshall's .833 (15-3).

Tennis teams to begin postseason play at Conference USA Tournament
Earlier this week, league officials announced the bracket and opening-round matchups for the Conference USA Men's and Women's Tennis Tournaments.

The women (11-8) are the No. 9 seed and will square off against eighth-seeded Southern Miss at 9 a.m. on Thursday at the Waranch Tennis Complex in Denton. Thursday's winner will advance to face top seed Rice at 10 a.m. in Friday's quarterfinals. The semifinals will be played at noon on Saturday and the championship match is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The women are led by Miriam Rosell Canudas, who currently is the nation's 100th-ranked singles player. The program's first-ever ranked player is a perfect 19-0 in dual-match singles play this spring. Meanwhile, Lina Hallgren and Charleen Tiwari have a team-leading 10 doubles victories, but Kylee Kato and Rosell Canudas are right behind that pair with nine of their own.

The men (6-17) are the No. 8 seed and will play top-seeded and 40th-ranked Rice (20-7) at 2 p.m. on Friday in Murfreesboro, Tenn., in the opening round of the single-elimination bracket. It will mark the third straight season the two teams have faced off in the league tournament, with the Owls winning last year and the Roadrunners posting a 4-2 victory in the title match in 2015. The winner will square off against either host and No. 4 seed Middle Tennessee or fifth-seeded Charlotte in one of the two semifinal matches at noon on Saturday. The championship match is set for 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Takeru Watanabe leads the Roadrunners with seven singles wins during the dual match season, while Juri Reckow and Kai Breitbach are close behind with six and five, respectively. Meanwhile, Fabian Brand and Igor Cantanhede have teamed up for a team-best six doubles victories, while Christian Carrillo and Reckow have four.

Women's Golf finishes third at Conference USA Championship
Led by a trio of top-15 individual finishes, the women's golf team placed third at this week's Conference USA Championship, which wrapped up on Wednesday at Verandah Club in Fort Myers, Fla.

Julie Houston, Nikki Long and Aimee Ponte all finished in a tie for 13th at 7-over-par 223 to lead UTSA to its 10th straight top-four conference finish. The Roadrunners carded an 889 (298-297-294) for the bronze medal behind Old Dominion (876) and Middle Tennessee (884) and ahead of FIU (894) and Southern Miss (897) in the 11-team field.

Men's Golf to compete at Conference USA Championship
The men's golf team will travel to Texarkana, Ark., for the Conference USA Championship on April 23-26 at Texarkana Country Club.

The field will play 54 holes with 18 holes on each of the first three days. The top four teams then will advance to seeded match-play semifinals on Wednesday morning and the two winning teams will face off in the championship match that afternoon.

Live scoring will be available here.

The Roadrunners have registered three top-five finishes this season, including back-to-back at the Border Olympics and Lone Star Invitational in March.

Zander Lozano, a junior from Fair Oaks Ranch, leads the squad with a 71.55 stroke average and four top 10s, including a pair of wins during the fall campaign.

Track & Field to continue season on Saturday in Houston
The track & field teams will continue their outdoor campaign on Saturday in Houston at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight. The one-day meet on the campus of Rice University is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

Adrian Riley's victory last Friday in the long jump with a career-best 24-4 ½ (7.43m) leap highlighted the men's busy weekend of action at two meets on the West Coast. All told, the Roadrunners posted a total of a dozen top-10 finishes at the three-day Mt. SAC Relays while also competing at Saturday's Beach Invitational.

Meanwhile, the women posted a total of nine top-10 finishes at the Mt. SAC Relays. Leading the way was Mia Hicks (discus), N'Dia Warren-Jacques (shot put) and the squad's 1,600-meter relay, who all posted fifth-place performances.
