IRVING — With another perfect week in the books for the UTSA volleyball team, Dajana Boskovic and Amanda Gonzales repeated as Conference USA's offensive and freshman of the week, respectively, the league office announced on Monday.
Boskovic helped the Roadrunners maintain the second spot in the Conference USA standings as the regular season winds down en route to the program’s 600th all-time win. The Bosnia and Herzegovina native registered a career-best 29 kills in a four-set victory at Florida Atlantic on Friday and then followed with another 21 at FIU to close out the week.
The junior also recorded double-doubles in each of the matches last week with 15 and 11 digs to bring her total to 11 on the season. Boskovic also posted back-to-back matches of a .300 clip or better with a .407 hitting percentage against FAU (29-5-59) and a .381 clip (21-5-42) at FIU.
Meanwhile, Gonzales earns her third honor of the season and second consecutive. The New Braunfels native continues her impressive freshman campaign, as she’s now registered six consecutive matches of 40-plus assists. She matched a season-best of 49 at Florida Atlantic and then followed with a 44-assist performance to end the week.
Gonzales averaged 11.62 assists per set and helped UTSA to a .240 hitting percentage over the week. Against FIU, the freshman setter also set a season-best of 19 digs.
UTSA returns to the Convocation Center for its final three home matches of the regular season beginning with a 6 p.m. contest against Rice on Wednesday.
