SAN ANTONIO - A five-run rally over the final two innings helped the Alumni Orange team forge a 6-6 tie with the Alumni Blue team at the 2004 UTSA Baseball Alumni game played Sunday afternoon at Roadrunner Field.
Alumni Blue had jumped out to a 6-1 lead after four innings as Matt Srp delivered a two-run single and Aaron Semper also had an RBI base hit in a five-run fourth inning against Billy Putnicki.
Alumni Orange came from behind with a four-run sixth inning which was fueled by Danny Phillips' three-run double against J.P. McLain. Matt McIntyre also had a run scoring double in the inning.
Orange tied the game on a two-out run scoring single by Bobby Alford which plated Brette Parrish in the seventh inning.
Steve Minus provided another highlight on the afternoon, belting a solo home run to left field off of Hector Rodriguez in the second inning. The shot had tied the score at one.
Thanks to all the baseball alumni for their participation in the event.
