CLEVELAND — The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) has announced its three finalists for this year's Marketing Team of the Year Award (MTOYA), sponsored by row27. The winner will be announced during the Kickoff session at the 21st annual NACMA Convention, which will take place from June 25-28 in Dallas.
In its inaugural year, there were 16 nominations for the MTOYA, spanning across FBS (seven), FCS (five), Division I-AAA (one) and non-Division I institutions (three). It was created to show the type of impact that a marketing team has not only on the athletics department, but the campus and surrounding communities as well.
The finalists are California State Bakersfield, Iowa State and UTSA.
"We are very pleased with initial response to the MTOYA and had some very impressive candidates, but these three finalists really stood out," said NACMA President and Boston College Associate AD for External Operations Jamie DiLoreto. "All nominations exemplified the group efforts required to be successful in collegiate marketing, which is something all should be proud of. We hope the submissions continue to grow throughout the years, as the completed nomination would double as a valuable piece to summarize the collaborative successes of your department and present to your athletics director."
The selection committee was made up of NACMA Past Presidents, as well as two NACDA Past Presidents.
Award recipients will receive the prestigious NACMA MTOYA Trophy to keep in their offices and will be announced and recognized at the NACDA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, June 26, at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas. The finalists' submissions will be posted on the NACMA Online Library for the membership to view.
